Albert Swift's 'First Principles of Christian Citizenship'

Below is a link to a copy of Albert Swift's book, The First Principles of Christian Citizenship, first published in 1908, which is the best explanation I have read of why Christians should be involved in social action. If you spot any errors in the text, please let me know.

I will be adding more information to this page shortly and make the book the subject of the last Reflection on God & Money for 2013.

The First Principles of Christian Citizenship
by the Rev'd Albert Swift

'Evangelism, rightly understood, is the mightiest factor in social reform. It proposes to remake the man, and then set him to remake his environment. Conversion is, in the purpose of Christ, preparation for social responsibility.'          Albert Swift (1863-1913)
